Eco-Checklist for Ukrainian Communities

Eco-Checklist for Ukrainian Communities

The environment is a silent victim of war. It cannot defend itself. According to preliminary estimates, environmental damage from Russian aggression has reached approximately 2.4 trillion UAH. Meanwhile, it is challenging for communities to account for all aspects of environmental protection.

Together with a number of environmental NGOs, our team, Waste Ukraine Analytics, has participated in the development of a tool—the ECO-CHECKLIST FOR UKRAINIAN COMMUNITIES—which aims to assist local self-government bodies in the context of the war and post-war recovery. After all, it is at the community level that many decisions are implemented upon which the cleanliness and safety of the environment—and consequently our health—depend. That is why, together with our colleagues, we are appealing to the heads of territorial communities with a call to publicly integrate the ECO-checklist into the work of their local authorities.
